Ximena Sariñana is scheduled to perform a free outdoor concert on October 31, 2026 at 8:00 PM in the atrium of the Exconvento de San Bernardino de Siena in Valladolid.

The event is part of the Circuito Nacional de Festivales por la Paz, organized by Mexico’s federal culture authorities in coordination with Yucatán’s Secretaría de la Cultura y las Artes (Sedeculta).

Where is the concert?

The concert will be held in the atrium of the Exconvento de San Bernardino de Siena in Barrio de Sisal.

If you know Valladolid, this is the landmark at the end of Calzada de los Frailes. It’s one of the prettiest parts of the city, and honestly, it’s a much better setting for a concert than a generic arena or fairground.

If you’re staying near the center, I’d walk rather than drive. The route down Calzada de los Frailes is part of the experience, and on a night like this I’d expect the area around the convent to be busier than normal.

What time should you arrive?

The official start time is 8:00 PM, but I would not plan to walk up at 7:55 and expect the best spot.

Because the show is free and outdoors, I’d probably be in Barrio de Sisal by 6:30 or 7:00 PM. That gives you time to walk the Calzada, grab dinner or a drink, and see how the crowd and access points are being handled.

As of this update, I have not seen an official announcement about capacity limits, reserved sections, wristbands or a special entry process. If those details are released later, I’ll update this page.

Who is opening?

Yucatecan indie-pop artist Kafi will open the evening before Ximena Sariñana performs.

That’s a nice addition because this isn’t just a touring artist dropping into town. The event is also giving a local Yucatan artist a prominent stage.

A Cancun-to-Valladolid detail people forget

If you’re coming from Cancun or the Riviera Maya, remember that Valladolid is one hour behind Cancun.

That can actually help on the drive over, but don’t let it confuse your dinner reservations or arrival time. The concert’s 8:00 PM start is Valladolid local time.

Should you make this an overnight trip?

I would.

You can drive back toward Cancun after the show, but that turns what should be a good night into a late highway run.

A better plan is to arrive in Valladolid in the afternoon, check in, walk the center and Calzada de los Frailes, have an early dinner, go to the concert, and sleep in town.

The next morning you can have breakfast and visit a cenote before the day-trip crowds get going. That’s the version of this trip I’d choose.

Will restaurants and hotels be busier?

Probably.

A free concert by a nationally known artist in a relatively compact city can pull in visitors from around Yucatan as well as travelers already staying nearby. If you have a hotel or restaurant you really want, I would reserve earlier than usual.

Is this worth changing a Valladolid itinerary for?

If you already planned to be in this part of Yucatan around October 31, yes.

I wouldn’t fly to Mexico solely for one free concert, but if you’re choosing between spending that night in Cancun or Valladolid, this would push me toward Valladolid pretty quickly.

The setting matters. Seeing live music in front of San Bernardino, then walking back along Calzada de los Frailes, is the kind of night that feels very different from another evening inside the Hotel Zone.

What I’d do that day

My simple plan would be: arrive in Valladolid during the afternoon, check into your hotel, spend some time around the historic center, walk Calzada de los Frailes toward Barrio de Sisal, eat before the crowd peaks, and be near the convent by around 7:00 PM.

Then enjoy the concert without worrying about a long drive afterward.
